Job highlights—
A ‘tractor driver’ at a boat dealership is responsible for operating a tractor to move boats within the dealership's storage and launch areas. Assist in launching of customer and service boats. Requiring a strong understanding of boat handling, maneuvering tight spaces and maintaining the tractor and associated equipment in a safe and operational condition. May also assist with other dealership maintenance tasks as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Operating the Tractor: Safely and efficiently drive the marina tractor to transport boats on trailers
between storage areas, launch ramps and customer parking areas, ensuring proper positioning and
secure loading/unloading.
· Boat Handling: Securely attach and detach boats from trailers, using proper techniques to prevent damage to the boat and trailer.
· Assisting in the launching of customer and service boats.
· The Tractor Driver/Dock Hand is responsible for assisting boaters and assisting the dealership team with assigned duties of general operation of the dealership and docks, this includes:
· Daily covering and un-covering boats.
· Detailing boats.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience: Previous experience operating a tractor, preferably in a similar boat dealership/marina environment.
· Boat Handling Skills: Understanding of boat maneuvering and trailer loading/unloading
procedures.
· Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy objects, work outdoors in various weather conditions.
· Minimum age requirement—18 yrs.
· Ability to work safely around the water.
· Must be able to swim.
· Able to interact professionally with colleagues.
· Eagerness to engage in a growing, fast paced and industry-leading company.
OTHER INFO:
· The environment during the Summer Months is HOT and HUMID.
· There will be spiders and other insects in the work environment.
· Must have safe driving record.
· Work Week is Tuesday through Saturday.
· During Boat shows and special events additional hours will be required.
